We are proud to welcome recent candidate for RNC Chairwoman and current California National Committeewoman Harmeet Dhillon. In May of 2021, Harmeet testified before the Subcommittee on Elections during the 117th Congress, in regard to election integrity. Like all Nevadan Republicans, Harmeet is highly concerned with election integrity including safe, free and fair elections. Please take a moment to read her full testimony here.

Harmeet became the RNC Committeewoman from California in 2016. Prior to that, she served as the Vice Chairman of the California Republican Party, and Chairman of the San Francisco Republican Party.

Since being first elected to the California Republican Party’s board in 2013, Harmeet served as the Party’s main spokesperson, and volunteered countless legal hours to defending the CRP’s trademarks from misuse by Democrats and special interests. As a result of her efforts, the Party’s symbols have seen a major decline in misuse. She played a leading role on numerous Board committees, including the Audit, Budget, Personnel, and Independent Expenditure Committees.

Born in India, Harmeet and her family moved to America when she was two, and she grew up in rural North Carolina. This experience instilled in her the same values which make our country great and helped shape her character, beliefs, and patriotism.

Harmeet went to Dartmouth College, where she gained national fame as the Editor-in Chief of the Dartmouth Review newspaper, and upon graduation, began working at the Heritage Foundation as Assistant Editor of its Policy Review magazine. Dhillon attended the University of Virginia Law School, where she served as President of the largest chapter of the Federalist Society in the country, and later worked at the U.S. DOJ under a Republican Administration.

Due to a strong belief that common sense had been lost in California’s governance, Harmeet decided to run for State Assembly in 2008, becoming the first Indian American nominee of any major party in California history. Later, while practicing law, Harmeet started a manufacturing business, Sea Ranch Woolworks. As a small businesswoman, she witnessed firsthand the burden job creators face from oppressive regulation, taxation, and job-killing legislation every single day.

Harmeet Dhillon’s bold vision for the role of RNC National Committeewoman, along with her leadership and proven record of success working along with California Chairman Jim Brulte, resulted in her unanimous election to represent California at the RNC on May 1, 2016. Harmeet became a member of the RNC in July 2016 and is now one of California’s three members. While campaigning, she received the endorsement from virtually every Republican congressional member and legislator in California. Harmeet was an RNC delegate for President Donald J. Trump at the RNC Convention, representing California as an at-large delegate, and she also served as California’s RNC Convention Rules Committeewoman in the 2016 convention, where she delivered a Sikh prayer as the invocation for the opening of the Tuesday evening nomination session of the convention, an event that was nationally televised.

Harmeet and her husband, Sarvjit, a nuclear engineer, live in San Francisco, and spend weekends on the coast in Sonoma County, California. Her business litigation practice employs several lawyers and support staff and practices throughout the United States. Her cases have included numerous high profile free speech, free exercise of religion, and political matters, and she is a frequent legal commentator and writer on these issues. When not working or performing political duties, Harmeet enjoys sailing, hiking, knitting, and travel.
